Klein Collins kicked off to the Panthers, but after a penalty, two short runs by K. Hampton, and an incomplete pass they were forced to punt on 4th down. The Tigers took over with good field position and quickly moved the ball to the Panther 21. But successive tackles by M. Gonzales, C. Robinson, and N. Redmond left them at 3rd and 8. Looking to pass, J. Brackens broke through and tackled the Tiger QB for a seven-yard loss. They went for it on fourth down, but were stopped by Gonzales short of the first down. The KO offense went to work and runs by J. Cabrera and M. Pickens brought the ball to midfield. The Panthers tried to pass on the first two plays and were intercepted on the next play. KC took over at the 39, but the Panther defense held as C. Toth stopped them on 4th down, turning the ball back over to KO. The offense finally got untracked, marching the ball down the field on runs by Hampton and J. Toth – setting up 1st and goal from the 7. However a 15-yard penalty and a good defensive stop by the Tigers forced 4th and goal from the 25. Going for it, Toth found J. Johnson in the end zone for a TD and a 6-0 KO lead. Following the kickoff, the defense forced a three and out and the Panthers offense went to work. This time it was Pickens joining Toth and Hampton doing the running, along with a 22-yard pass to K. Buchanan that lead to Pickens running it in from the 7 for a TD and a 12-0 KO lead. After the kickoff, the Tigers tried to pass and were intercepted by C. Toth with under a minute to play. Capitalizing on a facemasking penalty against KC, passes to J. Williams and an 8-yard run by Pickens set up a Toth to K. Green 17-yard TD pass as the half ended and pushed the lead to 18-0.
Collins got the ball to start the second half and 65 yards to score (Robinson blocked the PAT kick) cutting the lead to 18-6. The Panthers started off after the kickoff in good field position and were moving the ball down the field until an interception at the 20 ended that drive. The defense stopped KC for another three and out and a short punt gave the Panther offense the ball at the 49. A holding penalty negated a 23-yard run by J. Morgan, but on 4th and 13, a roughing the passer call kept the drive going. Going back to the running attack, they marched the ball down to the 16, where Toth found Johnson for another passing TD and a 24-6 lead. The defense forced another three and out and on 4th down, a bad snap let D. Bowden tackle the punter and gave the ball back to the offense at the 25. Morgan and Cabrera ran the ball to the 1 and Cabrera pushed the ball in for the TD. Morgan then connected with Green for the 2-point conversion pushing the score to 32-6. Collins offense, using the pass, quickly scored to cut the lead to 32-12. But the Panthers took over and ran out the clock on running plays – including a 50-yard apparent TD by Morgan that was called back for a penalty.
Offensively, the Panthers were led in rushing by Toth (107), Cabrera (58), Pickens (48), and Hampton (30), Morgan (17 – of which another 92 yards were called back due to penalties). Toth passed for 139 yard with Johnson (41), Green (34), Buchanan (22), Williams (20), Poth (12), and Heckt (10). The defense, which held the Tigers throughout the game, were led by Robinson with 11 tackles, with Toth, J. Ray, J. Alcala, H. Harris each with 5. T. Waring recovered an onside kick.
