Freshman Gold came alive in the second half to come from behind and beat Cypress Creek 21-8. Oak was down 8-0 as the fourth quarter began, but then Jacob Harper hit Denton Townsend on a nine yard touchdown pass to bring us within two points. On the next drive Mateo Omelanczuk hit Christian Aguilar on a 39 yard pass play to the one yard line, then Jose Perez scored on a one yard run. Cypress Creek looked like they might be mounting a comeback, but Travis Banks scooped up a fumble and ran 50 yards for a touchdown, sealing the Oak victory.
The Oak defense played extremely well, holding Cypress Creek to only a single touchdown. Sean Brown led the way with an interception, a sack, and two tackles. Alberto Lopez and Kendrick Spikes each had four tackles, while Lee Dailey, Jacob Briner, and Ryan Lindner each had three.
