David Smith

Head Football Coach / Athletic Director

Coach Smith coached four years at Northern Illinois University for Charlie Sadler.  He coached three years at the University of Oklahoma for Barry Switzer and Gary Gibbs, and nine years in Baytown at Baytown Lee High School. Lettered in football and track at Richardson High School. David also lettered in football and track at, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Sam Houston State University. He has a Masters Degree from Stephen F. Austin in Mid-Management. He has thirty two years experience with sixteen years at Klein Oak. David and his wife Patti have two daughters, Austin, age 18, and Kennedy , age 13.

Jeff Poth

Assistant Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator / Offensive Line

Coach Poth has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A & I University.  Jeff is certified to teach Math, Health and Physical Education. He coached at Pasadena ISD for ten years.  This is his twelveth year coaching at Klein Oak.  Jeff and his wife, Amy, have two children, Barrett 16 and Benjamin 13.

Kevin Pettigrew

Defensive Coordinator / Inside Linebackers

Coach Pettigrew has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Houston. Kevin is certified to teach Physical Education and has a Composite certification in Social Studies. He has coached High School for 22 years;  6 years at Klein collins, 4 years at Spring woods,  and 8 years at Eisenhower High School.  for the last 4 years he coached at Klein Oak in Klein ISD. This is Kevin’s 4th year at Klein Oak.  Prior to coming to Klein Oak, he was an assistant varsity football coach and head boys track coach at Klein Collins. Coach Pettigrew has been happily married to his wife Mary for 25 years. They have two children, Christy 31, Courtland 14.   He and Mary also have two grandchildren, Jakob 3 and Charly who is now 1.

Rodney Fuhrmann

Co-Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Backs

Coach Fuhrmann is a graduate of Montgomery High School and Sam Houston State University. He has thirteen years coaching experience. He coaches the defensive backs and strength and conditioning. He teaches IPC science for the special education department. After starting his coaching career in New Orleans, LA, at John Curtis High School, he has spent the last six years back home in Texas. He is married to Kim and has two children, Rylee Elizebeth and Trey.

Claude Brumfield

Defensive Line

Coach Brumfield has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northeast Louisiana University, where he played on the 1987 I-AA National Championship team before becoming a football graduate assistant. He has a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Xavier University in New Orleans, LA. Claude is certified to teach Composite Social Studies and Physical Education. He coached at Beaumont Central and Sam Houston High schools here in Texas, and has coached for serveral high schools in Louisiana. This is his fifth year at Klein Oak. Claude and his wife Demetria live in the Humble area.  He has been married for 14 years to Demetria G. Brumfield.  They have no children.

Ken Vale

Running Backs, H Backs and Tight Ends

Coach Vale received his teaching certificate from the University of Houston.  He also has a B.A. from Indiana State University.  He played college football at Indiana State University.  This is Coach Vale’s 5th year at Klein Oak where he also teaches World History.  He coached at Killough Middle School for 6 years and Aldine High School for 14 years.  Ken and his wife Lise have two sons - Tim, a seinorat the University of Houston, and Iain, a varsity football player at Klein Oak.

Andres Gomez

Corner Backs

Coach Gomez has been coaching high school football for seven years in Houston, Tomball, Aldine, and Klein ISD. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets, Company E-2. He graduated from Katy high school and played on the 1997 Division I 5A State Championship team. He is married to Katie.  Their children are also coaches.  Juan coaches at Beckendorff Jr. High, and Luis coaches at Bay City High School.

Coached @ CFISD, Spring ISD, Alvin ISD, Coldsprings, Trinity ISD, 19years of experience most recently in Conroe ISD.

Goals for the team are to Win District and a position for State Championship

Married to Tricia for 19 years, have 2 sons, Montana(14) and Jake (10). I enjoy fishing, traveling, working out and spending time with my family.

Coach Bradley

Receivers coach

Coach Bradley recieved a bachelors in P.E from New Mexico State University in 1980, and a masters in Educational Administration from that same school in 1986.  He has been coaching for 33 years.     His coaching experience includes:  Mayfield High School – 1980-1985 (3 years as Defensive Coordinator) ,  New Mexico State 1986 – Outside linebacker coach,  1987-1988 Head Football Coach – Santa Fe High School ,  1989-2007 Spring High School (Offensive Coordinator from 1993-2007), 2007-2008 Offensive Coordinator at Chapin High School in El Paso, Tx.,  2009-2011 Varsity Receivers Coach at Waco High School (District Champions 2011, Bi-District Champions 2010).   In 2001 he coached the California-Texas All Star game.  His goals for the team are  to teach kids to be successful on the football field and in life.  Football teaches so many life lessons such as perseverance, goal setting, dedication to a TEAM effort, unselfishness, loyalty, and discipline.   He is married to DeAnna.  His daughter  Krystyn, is a sophmore at Texas A&M, where she throws javelin for track team.  He also has twin boys, Trevor and Marisa who are 9 years old. 

Jason Glenn

Outside Linebacker coach

Jason Glenn has a bachelors and a Masters degree from Texas A&M.  His playing experience includes playing in the NFL for 7 years, 1st team all Big 12, 2nd team All American 2000, Houston Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Year in 1996, 1st team all state in 1996.  His coaching experience includes 4 years of coaching at Pearland and Chavez..  He Coached in the 2010 State Championship In Pearland.  He is married  to Terrika Glenn, they have known each other since Kindergarten. They have a 9 yr old daughter named Kaidance Riley Glenn and a 5 yr old son name Jason L. Glenn II (Goes by J.R).   Coach Glenn loves to read, run, workout, and ride his bike with his wife and kids. 

 

 

 

Coach Shock

Freshmen football coach

Coach Scock has a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Abilene Christian University.  This will be Coach Shock's 8th year coaching and his first at Klein Oak.  His responsibilities include freshmen football and assistant track.  Prior to Klein Oak, He spent five years coaching football, track and cross country at Spring High School.  His coaching career began as a volunteer assistant at Klein High School followed by a two-year stint at Peet Junior High School in Conroe. I.S.D.  Coach Shock has been married to his wife Jennifer for 6 years.  Jennifer is a counselor at Klein Oak.  She has been a part of the Panther family for 5 years.  They have two dogs, Sadie and Rocky.

Royce Kennedy

Freshman Team

Coach Kennedy has a Bachelors Degree and Master of Education Degree from Stephen F. Austin. Royce is certified to teach Business, Health, and Physical Education. This is his 21st year coaching, with this being his 10th at Klein Oak. He and his wife Heather have two children, Bryce, age 11, and Taylor, age 17.

John Penn

Freshman Team

Coach Penn has a Bachelor of Science Degree from St Edwards University. He has a Composite in Social Studies and teaches Psychology and AP Psychology. John has 24 years coaching experience. This is his 14th year at Klein Oak. John and his wife, Paula, who works at Hildebrandt, have two children. His son Jared, attend Florida State University. His daughter Courtney, graduated from Klein Oak in 2010 and attends Stephen F. Austin State University.

Bo Hernandez

Freshman Team

Coach Hernandez has a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Houston. He is certified to teach Special Education, Health and Physical Education.  Bo is in his thirteenth year of coaching and his nineth year at Klein Oak.  Prior to coaching at Klein Oak, coach Hernandez coached at Trinity, Conroe, and Humble High Schools.  Bo is married to Dayna and is step-father to Tony and Tyler.

Chris Srubar

Co-Head Athletic Trainer

Chris Srubar received his Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Athletic Training from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. This is his fourth year at Klein Oak High School as the Co-Head Athletic Trainer. He also teaches Sports Medicine II. Before coming to Klein Oak, he was the Athletic Trainer at Victoria Memorial High School in Victoria, TX for three years. In addition to his Athletic Training Certification and Licensing, he is also a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.

Lisa Oliver

Athletic Trainer

Lisa Oliver received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in German and Biology and a Master’s of Science in Education, majoring in Physical Education and Wellness Promotion from Baylor University. She taught science for three years at Lake Air Jr. High in Waco, and coached the Baylor Women’s Soccer Club. She worked as an athletic trainer at Wichita Falls High School for 10 years. This is her thirteenth year at Klein Oak. She is also licensed and certified in athletic training, and has taught many different subjects over the years.
